Austin Friedman

Austin Friedman is a seasoned commercial real estate professional with over 12 years of experience spanning public and private real estate capital markets. He has held senior roles at leading institutional real estate finance and investment firms, building deep expertise in equity and debt acquisitions, asset management, capital markets, and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS). Before joining Friedman in 2025, Austin served as Director at Taconic Capital, a New York City-based hedge fund specializing in fixed income and commercial real estate strategies. At Taconic, he led acquisition and asset management initiatives and played a key role on the CMBS team—acquiring securities, managing the firm’s CMBS control book, and working closely with special servicers. Austin began his career at LNR Partners, an affiliate of Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD), where he focused on high-yield debt investing, B-piece acquisitions, CMBS trading, and special servicing, including complex loan workouts.

He holds a degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. In 2025, Austin returned to Michigan to be closer to family and to contribute to the continued growth of one of the nation’s premier commercial real estate service providers.
